HOTSHOT TRUCKING
Dedicated medium-duty trucks for smaller, time-critical loads — dispatched within the hour and driven straight from pickup to delivery, with no hubs and no waiting on other freight.
Expedited, dedicated, direct.
When it has to be there yesterday.
Hotshot trucking moves smaller, urgent loads on a dedicated medium-duty truck — a one-ton dually pulling a gooseneck or flatbed, a box truck, or a cargo van — instead of a full semi. Your load is assigned its own truck and driven straight through, with no terminals, transfers or consolidation delays.
Strategic Freight Solutions keeps that capacity on standby across Houston and Texas: when a part is down, a rig is waiting, or a job site needs it now, we put the right-sized truck on the road within the hour — and back it with a dedicated agent and live tracking from dispatch to delivery.

The right truck for the load
Van to gooseneck, sized to your freight.
Cargo / Sprinter Van
up to ~3,000 lb · 10–12 ft
Small, urgent parcels and pallets — the fastest truck to put on the road for a line-down part.
Bumper-Pull Hotshot
up to ~10,000 lb · 20 ft
Light equipment, crates and skids on a nimble trailer that reaches tight job sites.
Gooseneck (1-Ton Dually)
up to ~16,500 lb · 40 ft
The workhorse hotshot — long, heavy loads moved point-to-point without waiting on a full semi.
Flatbed / Step-Deck
up to ~16,500 lb · 40 ft
Taller machinery, steel and building materials with open-deck loading from any angle.
Box / Straight Truck
up to ~12,000 lb · 24 ft
Enclosed and liftgate-equipped for palletized freight that has to stay dry and secure.

Time-critical parts staged around Houston’s refining and petrochemical corridor.
Just-in-Time Freight
Scheduled, exact-window deliveries a shared LTL trailer can’t promise.
When hotshot wins
The fastest way to move a partial load.
Too big for a courier, too urgent for LTL, too small to justify a full semi — that is exactly the gap a dedicated hotshot fills.
vs. Full Truckload
A 53′ semi is overkill — and slower to book — for a load that doesn’t fill a full trailer.
vs. LTL
Less-than-truckload shares a trailer and rides through terminals; a hotshot skips every hub and transfer.
vs. Courier / Parcel
Too big or too heavy for a van or an overnight box — hotshot scales up without losing the speed.
vs. Waiting on Capacity
When there’s no truck available today, a dedicated hotshot is dispatched now.
On every hotshot move
Dedicated, tracked, on the road now.

Your load rides alone, direct from pickup to delivery — no hubs, no transfers, no waiting on other freight.

Hotshot trucking FAQ
Answers for urgent shippers.
What is hotshot trucking?
Hotshot trucking moves smaller, time-critical loads on a dedicated medium-duty truck — usually a one-ton dually pulling a gooseneck or flatbed trailer, a box truck, or a cargo van — instead of a full semi. The truck is assigned to your shipment alone and driven straight from pickup to delivery, with no terminals, transfers or consolidation delays.
How fast can you dispatch a hotshot?
For urgent loads we aim to have a truck and driver rolling within the hour, 24/7. Because a hotshot never waits to be consolidated with other freight, it leaves the moment it is loaded.
How much can a hotshot truck carry?
It depends on the vehicle: a cargo van handles a few thousand pounds, while a gooseneck behind a one-ton dually carries up to roughly 16,500 lb and around 40 feet of length. We match the truck to your load and your deadline.
Hotshot vs. LTL vs. full truckload — which is right for me?
If your load does not fill a 53′ trailer but is too urgent or too large for LTL or a courier, hotshot is usually the answer. Full truckload is slower to book and overkill; LTL shares a trailer and rides through terminals. Hotshot gives you a dedicated, direct, right-sized truck.
Do you run hotshot for the oilfield?
Yes. Rig-down parts, drilling components and plant-turnaround freight are a core hotshot use — moved on demand across the Houston refining corridor and out to the field.
Can a hotshot load go out of state?
Absolutely. We are Houston-based and run hotshot loads across Texas and nationwide to 48 states whenever the job leaves the metro.
What if my hotshot load is oversize?
We handle it. If your load crosses Texas oversize limits, we pull the TxDMV permits and arrange escorts, exactly as we do on our heavy-haul moves.
Is hotshot cheaper than booking a full truck?
For a load that does not need a full semi, usually yes — you pay for a right-sized dedicated truck instead of an empty 53′ trailer, and you get it on the road faster.
